Harvest Field Barrier: Siege Warfare

The goal of siege warfare is to isolate the target and then wear them down.

Most of us have experienced that, but we don't recognize that it is currently deployed against us.  Why not?

Couple reasons.  First, the typical start of a siege is NOT a dramatic event but rather a slow and subtle process - like choking vines around a house.

Since it begins small as a nuisance, we tolerate, accommodate, and then accept the condition as normal, even as it worsens.

Secondly, there are some siege structures that we have inadvertently created and maintained.  What?!?!

Last night at The Deck, we highlighted three of these structures: Unforgiveness, pride, and self-pity.

All of these actually have a 'righteous root' - where there was a valid basis for the hurt, wound, etc. and a righteous need/call for justice.

But then we make it our right to hold unforgiveness to enforce justice or we move beyond incidents where we were victimized to becoming a victim.

In these instances, we do to ourselves the very things siege warfare is designed to do: Isolate and wear down.

This is a wake-up call for face-time with God to reveal the places where this kind of warfare is active.

Indeed, some are slow, subtle strategies by the enemy designed to cut you off so gradually that you accept it as normal.

Pray that is exposed so you can repent for accepting it and rebuke the devourer.

But then there are others where 'we have met the enemy and it is us.'

These are harder to see but God can show you IF you earnestly want to see.

This work is critical to break free from any siege structure that is standing between you and your harvest field.

In this time of double-portion, don't miss what God is setting before you.
