Jesus Didn't Go to Cabo

Three powerful victories in this biblical month: The Passover exodus, the entrance to the Promised Land, and the Crucifixion / Resurrection.

But we miss the point if we do not grasp God's attitude is not simply to win but to CRUSH!

One would think that to beat down Egypt with plagues, get Israel out with plunder, split and cross the sea, and land them in the wilderness, was victory enough... NOPE.

God lures Pharaoh's troops (in volume for vengeance,) down into the sea and then under it: Beyond defeat, He crushes them.

Fast forward to Jericho when it would have been easy enough to draw the enemy out and take the city. NOPE.

He lulls them into stupor with a six day silent parade and then implodes the whole structure so everything can be crushed.

Jump to Jerusalem where the Crucifixion was public and brutal whereas the Resurrection was private and quiet. Hmmm...

But what about those days in between?  Jesus did not go to Cabo on spring break.

He was raiding hell and the grave, triumphing over His foes by the Cross and making a public spectacle of them.

He preached to captives, broke the bars, took the keys, led captives out, and then took up His Life again in a victory dance!

He didn't simply win: He CRUSHED His enemies... again!

(And oh, by the way, He has that same attitude for His return.)

But for right now, it's springtime when The King goes out to war.

He IS on the battlefield and He has more than winning in mind.

Beyond powerful: He's fierce.

We must have that same mindset which is in Him.

Stephen
